Mira received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Indiana University Bloomington, where she was an undergraduate research assistant in the lab of Dr. Jonathon Crystal. There, she studied episodic memory impairment in rat models of Alzheimer's Disease and traumatic brain injury. With the goal of continuing to study neurodegenerative diseases, Mira started her Ph.D. at UChicago in 2021. As a member of the Kratsios Lab, she studies transcription and translation of C9ORF72, the most common genetic cause of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Dementia. 

Outside the lab, Mira serves as a Neuroscience program representative for the UChicago Biological Sciences Division Dean's Council and as a mentor for undergraduate members of the Indiana University Center of Excellence for Women & Technology. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking care of her plants, and exploring Chicago.
