I began my PhD at UChicago during the Covid pandemic, which was a unique experience. As an international student from Malaysia, I quickly found friends in the program who have become my support system. In Dr. Xiaoxi Zhuang's lab, I study the dopamine system and basal ganglia. Specifically, I investigate the signaling pathways involved in extinguishing behaviors that no longer serve a purpose, examining how decreased dopamine signals (negative prediction error signals) are processed postsynaptically during extinction learning.
Outside the lab, I love cooking, baking, and exploring new cafes around Chicago. So you'll likely find me testing new recipes in my kitchen or discovering Chicago's diverse culinary scene with friends when I'm not working. I also enjoy reading and watching K-dramas whenever time permits!
