I grew up in Canton, Ohio and attended Ohio State University where I earned a B.S. in Neuroscience and Psychology. I then moved to Chicago to work as a lab technician at Northwestern University and matriculated at the University of Chicago in 2019. My previous research experience includes studies on rehabilitation after spinal cord injury, the inflammatory microenvironment after spinal cord injury, and investigating therapeutics for epilepsy and Dravet Syndrome.
I am currently studying the functional domains of an important transcription factor that, when mutated, is responsible for spinocerebellar ataxia type 6.
